To become a Process Plant Technologist, you typically need a combination of education and experience:

  1. Often the minimum required qualification is a Diploma in Process Plant Technology (PMA50116) or a related field. You may also hold entry level Certificate II in Process Plant Operations (PMA20116) or Certificate III in Process Plant Operations (PMA30120). Some positions may require a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, or a related discipline.
  2. Employers will often look for several years of experience as a Process Plant Operator or in a related role within a manufacturing environment.
